Triathlete & Ultrarunner Needs Help in Little Rock
Marianne DeMarco, project manager for an event called Running Hope Through America (www.runhope.com) is asking for help. Lisa Smith Batchen, an ultra-runner and triathlete, will attempt to become the first person to run 50 miles in each of the 50 states -- she'll do this within 62 days -- to raise money for orphans in Haiti, the US, Ethiopia and India. It's becoming quite a bit bigger than originally planned thanks to upcoming interviews on Good Morning America and the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Because of this, they need a little more help than they currently have....they have a volunteer or volunteers to help out in each state, but haven't been able to locate anyone to help in Little Rock. If anyone can led them a hand, or know of someone else who might be willing, please call Marianne at 917-519-6730. They simply need someone to help find a route -- preferably a loop between 1 and 5 mile,s that is safe and flat. Lisa will be running in Little Rock on Friday, May 14th.

Grand Prix Info
WRA encourages everyone to sign up for the Grand Prix. You may be thinking that you shouldn't bother because you are only planning on running 1 or 2 races in the Grand Prix, or perhaps you are thinking you are not "good enough." Well, just consider this, everyone is good enough, and any races that you run will contribute to our team's placement at the end of the year. EVEN if you don't know if you're going to get to run any races, please sign up just in case you do! Maybe you are a duathlete, or a triathlete who runs an occasional road race, it doesn't matter! Please consider being a part of our team this year, we are going to have a great time!
